Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow."

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

LISA PAINE | Director

A recent graduate of Friends University with degrees in English Literature and Theatre, Lisa Paine is ecstatic to be serving as Director in Annie. As a teenager, Lisa performed in five CYT productions and has since returned as a drama teacher, stage manager, assistant director, and served as director for CYT West's You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown in the Fall of 2014. Extremely passionate about serving youth in community, she also serves with Legacy Ministries, Inc. working to reach at-risk youth in the Wichita area through the arts. She is excited to continue pouring into the arts community in Wichita, and hopes to give a sense of belonging and confidence to the youth she is able to mentor. Isaiah 40:8 


Angela is excited to return as music director for her sixth CYT production! She has been involved with CYT, teaching classes, music directing summer camps and shows, for the past 5 1/2 years. Angela grew up performing music theatre in her hometown of Pratt, KS and continued that love for musical theatre into college. At Friends University, Angela studied voice under Ann Marie Miller and Dr. Paul Brodene Smith, performed solos, and actively participated in Singing Quakers, Concert Choir, Opera Workshop, and Music Theatre. She teaches vocal music at Andale High School and St. Mark's Middle School. Angela loves traveling and spending time with family and her two Labradors, Jesse and Sadie. Angela has learned so much working with the talented students, directors, and staff of CYT. They all have gifts to share and a willingness to allow God to bless them and others through those gifts!

NICOLE COX | Choreographer

Nicole has been a student and teacher of dance for many years. Over the course of the last ten years, she has taught many different dance classes with ages ranging from preschool to college students. Nicole loves the classic and elegant style of Ballet as well as the fun and energetic style of Hip Hop. She has also had the opportunity to be involved in several musicals, with her favorites being “Peter Pan” and “Cinderella.”
