Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas. WHITE CHRISTMAS is an uplifting musical worthy of year-round productions.
From her earliest memories Linda has been dancing, singing, acting, and organizing her way through family living room Christmas programs. She continues to enjoy this wild passion as it has flourished through the years. Her professional training in the arts and a degree in Elementary Education has allowed her to pursue her love of music and theater by teaching vocal music and performing nationally in both secular and Christian venues. After raising four children with her husband Tim, Linda received God’s invitation to open a CYT in Wichita. It has been an adventure that has surpassed her wildest dreams! She considers it a blessing to watch God bring joy, strengthen character, and create a new awareness of His power through the avenues of music and theater.
White Christmas is Doug's fourth show with CYT. Doug taught high school choral music for over 30 years in the Wichita and Hutchinson school districts. During this time, he was the musical director for over 50 productions. He has also taught classes at Friends University for 22 years and was a minister of music for over 30 years. He received his Bachelors in Music Education and Masters in Church and Choral Music from Friends University. During college, he was active in Music Theatre of Wichita. Doug keeps busy with his 13 – year old son, Paul, who is active in CYT and is a 7th grader at Central Christian Academy. Doug and Paul attend Newspring Church.
Amy L. Derstein is excited to be back choreographing her seventh show for CYT! She has been choreographing and teaching dance since 1996. She has also danced and performed professionally in New York, St. Louis, Chicago, and Wichita. She graduated from Friends University in 2001 with degrees in Fine Arts/Ballet and Psychology (with an emphasis in counseling). She is currently enjoying her time as wife to her beloved best friend, Christopher Derstein, and as mother to two amazing girls, Addie, 13, and Meredith, 8. Amy is also the director/teacher of Paquita Dance Center. She has a passion to provide classical and professional ballet/dance instruction to all ages, in an environment that honors and praises Jesus Christ.
