Class Description

Amy Shelden has worked professionally as a voice actor and wants to pass on her knowledge to CYT students! This workshop will include discussions about vocal acting as a profession, techniques for voice acting (Pitch, Volume, Tone, Diction), how to practice vocal techniques at home, and how to develop good vocal habits for stage and voice acting alike. Get ready to speak a lot in this class!

Amy Shelden

A 2017 graduate of Friends University, Amy is excited to be working at CYT for a third year! At CYT, Amy has served in many roles: acting and movement instructor, assistant director, lighting designer, stage manager, pit orchestra musician, and more! She is finishing her first year as the Theatre Arts Director and Forensics Teacher at Trinity Academy and also acting and singing locally. Her favorite recent theatrical roles include 10 different roles in Baskerville, Molly in Peter and the Starcatcher, Penny in You Can’t Take It with You, and Rosie Alvarez in Bye Bye Birdie. One of her favorite Bible verses is Ephesians 5:1 - "Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us..." Soli Deo Gloria!
